The First Sino-Austrian Applied Higher Education Seminar is Held

On November 9th,“The First Sino-Austrian Applied Higher Education Seminar” is jointly held by Hefei University and Austrian universities alliance in the lecture hall of IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems.

Highlighting the experience ofAustrian applied universities in their internationalization, Mr. Karl Enthphiler, trustee of the university board, thanks HFU for her effort in preparing the seminar and looks forward to further cooperation with HFU in the field of applied higher education. Ms. Zhou Yan, Deputy General Secretary of CEAIE(China Education Association for International Exchange) affirms HFU’s leading role among domestic applied colleges and universities especially in international academic exchanges and cooperation.

In the following report session, Dr. Cai Jingmin, Chair of HFU Council, elaborates the development, status quo and trend of China’s applied colleges and universities on behalf of Chinese delegation, who hopes to take advantage of the seminar as a sustainable platform for the applied education in the international scale. Professor Eva Werner, president of IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems introduces the characteristics and quality assurance of applied higher education in Austria. Representatives of the Austrian academic exchange center(OeAD) introduce the international exchange projects of higher education and scientific research in Austria and look forward to the participation of applied universities of both countries.

      The seminar, as anacademic exchange, has broadened the horizon of the Chinese delegation and built a bridge of understanding between Chinese and Austrian applied universities, which will also promote the comparative study of applied higher education and cooperation as well as the construction of domestic newly-built applied undergraduate colleges.
