On July 3rd, Ouk Socheth,Lord of Kingdom of Cambodia and Chairman of Kampuchean-Hefei Association visits Hefei University. Professor Wang Qidong, president of HFU meets with Ouk Socheth to sign a cooperation agreement.
President Wang introduces that “Internationalization” is one of the important school-running orientations. Early in 1985, Anhui Province and Lower Saxony, Germany came to an agreement to develop Hefei Union Universitycooperatively, which became one of the two models of applied sciences in China assisted by German counterparts.So far, HFU has established cooperation relations with 62 universities in such countries as Germany, Korea, Japan, the United States, Italy, Spain, Australia,Britain and Russia, as well as in Taiwan. HFU has set up an Anhui-German Center and an Anhui-Korea Center to provide service for Anhui government and enterprises in cooperating with foreign countries. In addition, President Wang notes that Cambodian students at HFU have been thought highly of by their teachers and peer students with their diligence. HFU hopes to further cooperation with Cambodia and is keen to work for the establishment of China-Cambodia Center in Hefei.
Ouk Socheth expresses his gratitude to HFU for her devotion to Sino-Cambodian cooperation. He looks forward to the construction of the China-Cambodia Center into reality and making ita platform for not only cooperation, but also cultural communication.
